Founded as Volunteers in Service to America in 1965 and incorporated into the AmeriCorps network of programs in 1993, VISTA has been on the front lines in the fight against poverty in America for more than 40 years.”

St. Aloisius Medical Center is a sponsor site for the AmeriCorps VISTA program. The VISTA volunteer in Harvey would assist the St. Aloisius Medical Center Community Volunteer Program, assisting in the development, implementation, and sustainability of various volunteer programs in the Harvey area.

 This position does provide a monthly financial stipend, educational award, and many other benefits associated with national service.

A memorial snowmobile fun ride will be held March 1st, 2008.  In memory of Dustin Vallier, with proceeds going to the Harvey Ambulance Service.

The event will start at the Harvey Eagles Club, with registration at 12:00 noon.  The ride starts at 1:00 pm.  The cost of registration is $10.00 for all who would like to take part.  You don’t need a snowmobile, you can use a vehicle.  The map of the route will be handed out March 1st at registration.  All donations welcome.

Lunch for all participants after ride.  Door prizes and awards 7:00 pm at the Harvey Eagles Club, dance to follow.
